Final Project
Hand in: Exam week, final critique
Aims:
Create a final project that allows you to do one of the following:
1. Further develop an existing project you
have worked on during the course.
2. Creatively develop ideas and techniques you
have explored during the course.
The choice
of medium / software is yours.
Some examples of projects you could consider:
1. A series of images
on a proposed theme that connects to a project you have worked on during
the course
2. A 2D/3D piece that incorporates traditional techniques
/ processes and digital imaging
3. A book
4. Continuing and extending the
Flash animation project.
You are encouraged to further develop / refine / extend an existing
project you have been developing during the
course rather that starting from scratch.
Objectives:
What is most important is using the appropriate
software / hardware / technology to express
or communicate an idea effectively and creatively.
Experimentation with ideas and processes is
required.
In addition to your final work, produce associated
sketchbook development work.
Submit a typed paragraph / proposal that
outlines:
- Your idea
- How you will go about your project
- What you will produce
- A plan of how you will use your time
- This is due in Tuesday after Thanksgiving
Weeks 14 - 15
Project development
Finals week
Project presentation. Oral presentation in class.
The final visual presentation of your project
is very important. You must frame / mount /
install / present / project (as applicable)
your work in an appropriate and professional
way.
Grading criteria
- Fulfilled project guidelines and completed
all parts of the project: proposal, sketchbook,
final work and oral presentation in an organized
manner. Thoughtful and intelligent approach
to proposal, creative approach to sketchbook,
articulate in oral presentation.
- Presented final work effectively and professionally.
Experimental approach ideation, development
and execution of work. Technical competence
in evidence. Original approach demonstrated
in final work. Effective final outcome.
