THE ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS VISITS THE CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY
Each time ART 101 is offered we visit the California State Library, Library and Courts Building, 900 N St. upstairs from the main lobby in the California History Room at the invitation of Gary Kurutz, Curator of Special Collections, to view rare and fine examples of nineteenth century photography from the collection.
The class meets in the California History Room where Gary presents examples of daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, tintypes, rare albumen prints by Carleton Watkins, Eadweard Muybridge, and I.W. Taber, autochromes, and goldtones. We are very grateful to Gary for providingthis valuable service. |
