Please submit a CD that includes all the images we have selected for your gallery.

Submit each image in two ways:
1. A jpg at 72 dpi 100 pixels long for thumbnails.
2. A jpg at 72 dpi 400 pixels long for full sized images.

Make sure each image file is numbered, and that the number corresponds to the titles in the document below.

Include a document page (Word or TextEdit) with the following information for EACH IMAGE in this format:
ARTIST
TITLE (Use "Untitled" if there is no title)
DATE (Year only)
MEDIUM

The following is a step by step demonstration showing how to prepare an image for the web, using Photoshop.
The image in this example is a tiff file. It is a scan of a Chrysotype.

Notice the large document size - 52.3M -
which is much too large for efficient transmission
on the web.

To prepare this image for the web, first go to Image > Image Size and open.

In the "Image Size" window, make sure you have the "constrain proportions" box checked.

First change the resolution to 72 ppi. Then adjust the long side of your image - height or width - to 400 pixels. Click OK.

Images for the web usually need sharpening. Each image will require a different set of adjustments.

To sharpen your image for the web, go to Filter > Sharpen > Unsharp Mask.
Here below is the image before sharpening.

Use the parameters below as a starting point:

Amount: 100 - 200%
Radius: 0.5 - 1.0
Threshold: 0 - 1

Using the Preview window, move the cursor around the image and see how the variations
in the adjustments change the image sharpness. When satisfied, click OK.

Finally, use the "Save for Web" feature. Go to File > Save for Web.

In the tabs above the images try "2 Up" to show the before and after versions of the image.
Enter the following settings:

Choose the JPG file type, choose the Medium quality setting
and check the "Progressive" box.

Notice how the "Save for Web" feature dramatically reduces the file size of the image,
in this case from 370K to 28.05K. Click Save.

The image file is now web ready.
