THE ALTERNATIVE PHOTOGRAPHIC PROCESS ROOM
The room used for ART 162 is KDM 264B. It is equipped with everything needed for alternative printing:
Two coating stations which include "Puddle Pusher" coating rods, plate glass coating surfaces, syringes, and paper towel strips.
Two print drying units which are actually Excalibur Food Dehydrators which provide the necessary stream of 100 degree F. air.
Various sized hydration chambers made of flat rimmed photo trays, darkened glass, magnetic strips, and foam sealing tape.
Various split back contact frames w/ moisture barriers.
Two custom made exposure units which use ultra-violet fluorescent bulbs having 365-370 nm peak emission (Phillips Actinic 05.) These bulbs are the most efficient choice for iron printing processes in general.
One Modified NuArc Platemaker.
One 8' processing sink and two utility sinks.
Dedicated processing trays and glassware.
Print drying screens.
