Platinum-Palladium Purchase
We mix the platinum salts (Ammonium Tetrachloroplatinate) and palladium salts (Ammonium Tetrachloropalladate) in equal amounts to make the final platinum-palladium coating solution. Therefore we purchase equal amounts of each salt. The actual price we pay is based on the quote for the day of our purchase that our supplier J&J MATERIALS INC. gives us. Platinum and palladium salts are a commodity traded daily, so their prices fluxuate daily.
Our last purchase, made in February 2008, was based on the following rates:
Ammonium Tetrachloroplatinate: $22.32 per gram.
Ammonium Tetrachloropalladate $10.17 per gram.
The above quote this is only a rough approximation of what the price will be this semester. Please determine how much you want. On Saturday Feb. 21 we will know the exact price and can determine the $$ amount of your purchase. You will provide a check then for that amount made out to SERGIO SAENZ. No cash will be accepted.

Tetrachloropalladate = 48 ml of coating solution =

Tetrachloropalladate = 64 ml of coating solution =
